A Panchayat is a collective body of elected representatives responsible for the administration of Panchayat Raj institutions. In the case of a Grama Panchayat, it is the principal body that implements the decisions of the Grama Sabha and carries out day-to-day administration. The key components of the Panchayat are as follows:President: The head of the Panchayat. Presides over meetings and oversees the overall functioning of the Panchayat. Vice President: Assumes responsibilities in the absence of the President. Ward Members: Elected representatives from each ward of the Panchayat.Standing Committees: These are sub-committees formed to facilitate decision-making in areas such as finance, development, welfare, health, and education.
